PAL-B Video Standard now available at no extra cost !

SeaViewer now offers the following equipment in PAL-B format:

SeaViewer's complete camera systems provide everything that you need to view live underwater video in comfort topside - including camera probe, cables, and monitor.

Since a complete SeaViewer System is self-contained, you can use it in any country in the world, provided you can supply 110VAC or 12VDC current to the power adapters.   You can also view the video on YOUR TV, or record it on YOUR VCR, as long as your equipment has a "Video-IN" jack to receive the SeaViewer composite video signal.  Your equipment also must be made for use in North America, so that it is compatible with the NTSC (North American Broadcast TV) Standard.   Other countries have adopted the NTSC Standard, and equipment made for use in these countries will also be compatible.

However, many countries throughout the world have adopted video standards which are NOT compatible with NTSC.  Among these is the PAL-B Standard (used in Britain, Western Europe, Asia, India, and parts of the Middle East, among others).  To see a table of video standards used in different countries, click here.

Until now, in order to view or record the SeaViewer video on PAL-B equipment, it was necessary to purchase an NTSC to PAL-B convertor for about US$ 300.00.  In order to better accomodate our overseas customers, SeaViewer has developed a PAL-B version of the B&W and Color Cameras (850 & 950 Sea-Drops ™), the Offshore 1550 and 2550 Cameras, and the Sea-Trak GPS Overlay Box.   These cameras require output to the "Video-IN" jack of SeaViewer's or YOUR PAL-B monitor or VCR.   The PAL-B Sea-Trak requires video input from any PAL-B camera (which we can provide) and output to SeaViewer's or your PAL-B monitor or VCR.  Naturally, these are NOT compatible with NTSC equipment.

If you desire your SeaViewer equipment in the PAL-B Video Standard format, please make this clear at the time of your order.   Please allow one week to custom build before shipping.

SPECIAL NOTICE ABOUT POWER SUPPLIES:

ALL SeaViewer equipment requires 12VDC (12 Volts Direct Current) power for operation.   Correct Polarity MUST be observed.  On all our cable power connectors, the center pin is Positive.  Reversing the Polarity will permanently damage the camera.

Use of any higher voltage, or AC (Alternating Current) directly into the equipment, without first going through a 12VDC convertor will permanently damage the equipment.   We supply a 12VDC cigarette lighter adapter with all cameras.  This MUST be plugged into a 12 Volt DC power source with the correct Polarity.  With our Cameras, we also provide a 110VAC 60Hz adapter which converts 110VAC 60Hz to 12VDC.  If you have power other than 110VAC 60Hz, you must first convert it to 110VAC 60Hz before using the adapter.  Such convertors are common, and can be obtained at your local electronics store.

However, SeaViewer has available a limited supply of European-style-plug power adapters operating at 50Hz. This must be specified at the time of order.
